About the position

Welcome to Olaus Petriskolan 7-9! We are currently offering the opportunity to work with us as a French teacher on a temporary contract for the remainder of the school year. We are looking for an engaged and flexible teacher who wants to work at a large and attractive middle school in the city center. As a middle school teacher, you will teach students in their early teens, where mentorship is part of the role. Building relationships with students is an important part of the pedagogical work, to establish trust and a safe environment inside and outside the classroom. You will teach students in grades 7-9 but may also hold lessons for grade 6 in our other school building in northern Örebro.

Together with the other modern language teachers, you will share teaching materials, ideas, and methods. We collaborate to ensure that the school's students receive the knowledge they need and good conditions for the future.

You will be part of a fantastic team with extensive experience that collaborates and supports each other every day. You are expected to contribute to the team's development by actively participating in conferences and the group's professional development.

Examples of tasks:

• plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in French
• use methods and approaches that lead to the best possible achievement of goals
• provide mentorship/perform class leader duties
• work together with the team and other staff at the school
• document in the existing operational systems

About the workplace

Olaus Petriskolan is a K-9 school located centrally in Örebro, with grades K-6 in the north and 7-9 in the city at Oskarsparken. The middle school has about 600 students divided into 6 teams. The teams are responsible for a clearly defined group of students. We offer three unique profiles: culture, sports and health, and maker space. In close collaboration with the Culture School, we work across subject boundaries, allowing art, music, and theater to contribute to all students' learning as we work with interdisciplinary themes. Qualifications

To succeed in the role of a teacher, a genuine interest in and willingness to get to know our students, as well as the ability to create good relationships, are important in your pedagogical mission. Furthermore, you are responsible, organized, have good collaboration skills, and are clear in your communication with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have a good understanding of youth development and learning and are engaged in both teaching and the mentorship role. You are independent in your work while also easily collaborating with educators, student health, and principals when required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• teaching license with authorization to teach French for grades 7-9, or an equivalent qualification that entitles you to a teaching license

Desirable:

• authorization to teach Swedish
• authorization to teach Swedish as a second language
• experience teaching grades 7-9

Scope and start date

Employment type: temporary

Employment rate: 50%

Start date: as soon as possible, by agreement - until June 13, 2026 (with the possibility of extension)

A teaching license with the specified authorization must be attached to the application, or an equivalent qualification certificate that entitles you to a license.
